Regional End-of-Project Evaluation Meeting on the Implementation and Assessment of the ASEAN Regional Plan of Action for the Management of Fishing Capacity

The Regional End-of-Project Evaluation Meeting on the ASEAN Regional Plan of Action for the Management of Fishing Capacity was held in Melaka, Malaysia, from 12 to 14 August 2026 in hybrid format. Attendees included representatives from the JAIF Management Team, eight ASEAN Member States, SEAFDEC Secretariat and Training Department, resource persons from Universiti Utara Malaysia and Universiti Malaysia Terengganu, and officials from MFRDMD.

The meeting marked the near conclusion of the Fishing Capacity Project, where participants evaluated its implementation and the achievement of its objectives, while also refining the draft Terminal Report.

Funded by the Japan–ASEAN Integration Fund (JAIF), the project underscores the importance of regional collaboration in advancing sustainable fisheries management and addressing fishing capacity challenges in Southeast Asia.
